Attendance
We do not authorise term-time holidays. Where parents take their child out of school for reasons other than illness or other approved educational activities, these absences will be recorded as unauthorised and will appear on your child's attendance record.
Why attendance matters
Regular school attendance is essential for your child's success. Research consistently shows that good attendance is directly linked to better academic outcomes and increased opportunities in later life. When children attend school regularly and arrive on time, they:
-
Make better progress in their learning
-
Develop stronger friendships and social skills
-
Build confidence and self-esteem
-
Are better prepared for future education and employment
Your role as a parent / carer
One of the most effective ways you can support your child's education and development is by ensuring they attend school every day, on time. This helps your child benefit from the full range of learning opportunities and experiences we provide.
Support available
If your child is experiencing difficulties with attendance, please speak to us as soon as possible. We can work together to identify any barriers and put appropriate support in place to help your child return to regular attendance.
