Home Learning
At Solent Junior School, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom, and we recognise the importance of balance in our pupils' lives. We value the time children spend outside of school engaging in enrichment activities such as hobbies, sports, creative pursuits and pastimes that nurture their individual interests and talents. Equally, we understand that quality family time spent together is precious and plays a vital role in children's wellbeing and development.
Our approach to home learning is designed to encourage a healthy balance between supporting pupils' progress in their learning and respecting the importance of family life and personal interests. We aim to set tasks that further reinforce classroom learning whilst also helping parents and carers understand their child's learning journey, making stronger connections between home and school. Home learning is set via pupils' Teams accounts and can include a variety of activities from a range of subjects, ensuring children experience breadth in their learning. Through this balanced approach, we support our pupils to thrive both academically and personally, developing well-rounded individuals who are confident, curious learners.
